In contrast to futuristic Singapore, there’s a place that is untouched and has resisted modern development – Kampong Lorong Buangkok. In Malay, “kampong” means village, home to 29 families that are still keeping the “Kampong Spirit” alive. As you travel back in time to the bygone era of the 50s, foster this spirit which brings a sense of camaraderie, neighborliness, and community with the residents. Experience nostalgia and the preservation of the self-sustainable rural life in this tour of the last surviving link to Singapore’s past. 4pm - Meet our Guide at the lift lobby of 998A Buangkok Crescent. Guide will brief on personalities to be met and what to look forward to at the kampong.

4.15pm - 6.30pm: Reach the Kampong and begin the walking tour. Observe the flora and fauna and learn about the architecture of the kampong houses.

Meet the local residents. Listen to how the village comes together in times of need. Meet the landlord and listen to her story of how this village has been managed for the last 70 years over traditional delicacies and drinks. Learn about the local flora and home remedies.
