Morning assemble at Changi Ferry Terminal, take a bum boat ride to Pulau Ubin. This island its shape is like a boomerang. It is also Singapore’s last village or kampongs. Journey will take about 15 minutes. After reaching there, start walking to view the spices tree. Before that, you may opt to rent a bicycle. Then proceed to Butterfly hill and Pekan Quarry. In Pulau Ubin, there is a Chinese temple that you can visit. If you are tired, sit at the village area to relax. The villagers are selling cendol and coconut. They are normally busy during weekends and school holidays for serving the customers patronising their stalls. After that, take a van to visit the Chek Jawa Wetlands.
Chek Jawa Wetlands is located at the eastern end of Pulau Ubin, about 3km away from the public jetty at Pulau Ubin. From main village if you were to walk there, it will take you 40minutes. It covers approximately 100 hectares in area. On the way back, passby headman’s house and Teck Seng’s place. Teck Seng’s place already taken over by Nparks. Before leaving Pulau Ubin, visit the gallery next to the jetty. Home sweet home.
