At the end of WWII, when the Japanese was retreating , they were in a hurry to bury a vast amount of diamond as there was no time to take it all with them without suspicion, the idea was that the Japanese believe they would return to rule Singapore again . The treasure was plundered and hidden by the red butterfly – an all-female secret society in the 50s - with any clues for its location coming primarily from a purposefully obscure set of cryptic clues.

HOW TO PLAY?

The object of the game is to score as many points as possible.

Cryptic means ‘mystifying or having secret meaning’, so in this journey, the answers to the clues are on a permanent signboard along the marked routes but deliberately hidden. In every clue there are two ways to get the answer – There’s the true definition and the sneaky way round. It’s just a matter of knowing how to look at each clue to unlock the answer. Good luck!
