Overview/Highlights
Nestled at the Southern Coast of Singapore, Labrador Nature Reserve, commonly known as Labrador Park, contains the only rocky sea-cliff on the mainland of Singapore. The cliff and the outlying coastal secondary forest were gazetted as a nature reserve on 1 January 2002. Here, you can enjoy the tranquillity surrounded by natural wonders teaming with wildlife. But did you know that because of its steep cliff and thick mangrove swamp surrounding the area acted as an ideal natural barrier to intruders that it was one of 2 forts - Fort Pasir Panjang on Labrador and Fort Siloso on Sentosa – built by the British to protect the New Harbour of Singapore, so you can see artillery gun emplacements and ammunition store in the fort that serve as one of the lasting reminders, which include Mount Faber, Fort Siloso and Fort Canning, of their wartime legacy in Fortress Singapore. Start a great day with nature therapy; let your Qi flow like the fresh air in the forest and feel energised with the sound of life and the power of the sea.
