Meridian Heritage Walk

Yes, join the Meridian Trekkers, where you will learn to activate your natural life force - your “Qi” – together with the invigorating yet calm energy of nature.

Location: Bukit Batok Nature Park, Bukit Batok WWII Memorial & Former Ford Factory
Duration: 2-2.5 hours (7am to 9-9.30am)
Included: Guided Tour and Exercises with Meridian Ambassadors. Necessary materials and herbal essential oils will be provided.
Trekkers to bring along water, sunnies, sunscreen, hats and snacks (if necessary) and Importantly a BIG smile!

Overview/Highlights
Developed on an abandoned quarry site in 1988, Bukit Batok Nature Park features stunning views and crystal clear waters. Serene and tranquil, it is an ideal place for a peaceful nature walk.
Take a leisurely stroll on the meandering footpaths that run through the secondary forest and admire the beauty of the lush greenery.
Climb the look-out points that reach more than 10 storeys high for stunning views of the quarry. Stop by at the quarry pool, a scenic spot that people have found respite in. An image of tranquillity will come to mind immediately. marvel at the picturesque pond that lies at the foot of a high cliff wall. The pond runs deep and still – a relic from the mining days of the region. Pay tribute to the soldiers and victims of World War II at the memorial plaque situated within the park. During World War II, the Japanese selected the Lorong Sesuai site as a memorial for the soldiers who died. All that remains are two pillars and 120 concrete steps leading up to a transmission tower. We will end the trek in the former Ford Factory, which is a historical site where the British forces surrendered unconditionally to the Imperial Japanese Army on 15 February 1942. Trekkers can continue into the exhibition presented by National Archives of Singapore. The exhibition presents the surrender room where the surrender took place with the statue of Lieutenant-General Arthur E. Percival of the British forces, other events and memories surrounding the British surrender, the Japanese Occupation of Singapore and the legacies of the war. Singaporeans have free entry into the exhibition.
